There is no point in making plans. You can set all the goals you want for yourself, but they will never happen the way you want. Even if something good comes out of it, it’s never what you’re anticipating. You can’t plan anything with full confidence that it will happen. Not what college you’re going to attend. Not what you’re going to study once you get there. And not who you’re going to be with during that time or anytime after. You can’t even decide with 100% certainty what you’re going to eat tomorrow, because you don’t even know if you’ll be alive tomorrow to eat anything. Only God has complete knowledge of what’s in store for your life. We so often lose sight of this concept because we’re given too much control, or what we see as control, over our own lives. God has authority over everything that happens to us, and yet we can’t even find a spare moment in our “busy” day to simply pray and talk to Him. He is indeed a gracious God. If you were given the kind of power He has over someone, and they showed you the same lack of respect as we show Him sometimes, how would you treat that person? You can’t even fathom His grace and love. It’s unreal.
